Covenant Grace Belief Statement

We believe in one God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, who is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19).

We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will come again in glory and power (John 1:14; Luke 1:35; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 19:11-16).

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and who indwells, regenerates, sanctifies, and empowers all who believe in Christ (John 16:8-11; Romans 8:9-11; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 6:11; Ephesians 3:16).

We believe in the Holy Scriptures, the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, which reveal God's will and plan for our salvation and guide us in all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105).

We believe that all people are created in the image of God, but have sinned and fallen short of His glory, that salvation is a gift of God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by works, and that all who repent and believe in Him are justified, forgiven, and born again into the family of God (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 20:21; Romans 5:1; John 1:12).

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all who have been united to Him by faith and that He is the head of the Church, which is called to worship God, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and serve one another in love (Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:11-16; Matthew 28:18-20; Hebrews 10:24-25).

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ instituted two ordinances for His Church: baptism and the Lord's Supper, which are outward signs of inward grace, and that He commands His followers to observe them until He returns (Matthew 26:26-29; 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead, and establish His eternal kingdom, where He will reign with His saints in righteousness, peace, and joy (Acts 1:11; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:1-4; 22:3-5).

We believe in the resurrection of the body, the everlasting life of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost, and that our eternal destiny depends on our response to God's offer of salvation in Christ (John 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8).
